Which HD: IBM 60GXP or Maxtor D740X-L6 (both 60GB)?

Since I know there isn't much of a performance difference between them, I was looking for the quieter / most reliable.

Thanks

I'm very happy with the two GXP60 40GB drives I installed in my GF's mother's box last year. They are very fast, and running flawlessly... not to mention silently.

Not much between them,I went with the Maxtor D740X and have been very happy with it, another good thing about Maxtor is they have great customer support.

The Maxtors have fluid bearings in them if it matters. don't know about IBM's though. I justed order mine from newegg today. 115 for the fluid bearing model. 🙂

the maxtor fluid version cost up to 30 more.. i have it, but might get the regular one.. i dont care about noise..

I can't vouch for the D740x-L6, but I have a maxtor 40 gig 5400 RPM hard drive, and it's been a rock solid drive, plus pretty quiet...

I demand a lot from my computers, and it did keep up with what I used it for. I'll vouch for maxtor's reliability... 🙂

Really.. maybe 5 more dollars.. but a few week ago, it was 30 on pricewatch.... not many people carry it...
