Which hardware sound cards have s/pdif optical out?

Hi, i have a mini-disc recorder and need songs from the pc. Does anyone know which sound cards have s/pdif optical out? I prefer it to be quite cheap, and not as costly as say an audigy. THanks.

You may find a Yamaha YMF744 based soundcard with optical out. You could also pick up a C-media 8738 card, and then get the breakout plate for it, which has coax and optical SPDIF The Audio Excel C-media card, Review of a Zoltrix board with optical in / out.

It seems like you may be able to get one here with the optical in/out included.

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to get a optical-out daughter card for cmedia chips on mobos? sound blaster 128 chips on mobos? Thanks.

I think you can, but you have to insure the motherboard has the header for it first, as some m/b don't include them with the CMI 8738. You may have a hard time finding one of those daughter cards for the C-media though.
