Which hard drive would you keep as a backup?

Hi,

I have 2 new drives and I can't figure out what to keep as a back up drive to my WD 120 gb. Should I keep a 60 gb 5400 rpm drive or a 80 gb 7200 rpm drive? I was thinking about keeping the 5400 rpm drive because it's supposedly quieter and runs cooler, but it would be nice to have a faster 80 gb drive for back up.

Which should I keep?

TIA,

Sal

OK...we are talking about at least >> 180 << gigs of storage here right? Go with the 60 gig as your "backup" and build another system with the 80. If all the 80 gig would do is store your movies and MP3s then why the need for a faster drive?

You could keep both drives, and fill them up with MP3/Video/ or ripped DVDs...Depends on what kind of computing you mostly do. If you aren't going to be doing things that are hard-drive intensive, keep the larger, slower drive. If you need the backup drive to be fast, keep the faster smaller one.

Or keep one as a backup in case you get a virus or something. Keep it out of the computer to ensure that it's not corrupted.
