I want to get Half-Life 2, but I'm not sure which edition to get.

Collector's Edition DVD - $30
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/de...5776950?v=glance&s=videogames&n=541966
Half-Life 2
Half-Life 2: Lost Coast (I'm assuming Lost Coast is a a free upgrade)
Half-Life 1: Source
Counter-Strike: Source

Steam Source Premiere Pack - $60
http://storefront.steampowered.com/v2/i...age&SubId=43&l=english&s=0&i=&a=92,219
Half-Life 2
Half-Life 2: Lost Coast
Half-Life 1: Source
Counter-Strike: Source
Half-Life 2: Deathmatch (Seperately $10)
Day of Defeat: Source (Seperately $20)

1. Does Half-Life 2: Deathmatch come with the Collector's Edition? If so, I'll probably get that version.
2. Do I really need the DVD install disc in the collector's edition, or will I just be able to input my CD-Key into Steam and just download it from there whenever I feel like?

(maybe I should just wait for Aftermath to be released and pickup everything in the Platinum Collection for $54 in a few months)

thanks.

HL2-DM comes with the game, you can download it free. Lost Coast is also free. Only difference is DoD:S, if you even care to want that.

If you never played it, then no. Seems like the only people that care are the ones that played the original. COD2 is probably a better grab at this point. I'd rather have that than HL2.

I never played the original Day of Defeat, but I play the Source version all the time. Lately I've been playing it more than CounterStrike. I really like the deathmatch-style re-spawning so I don't have to wait after I die until the round ends to get back in the action.

Ill be happy just to get a DVD version. I haven't bothered reinstalling HL2 and it's 6 discs with a pile of steam on top of it.

You still have to download patches over Steam which can take hours. CE does come with a t-shirt, but only in XL for those fat gamers.
