Hi guys and girls,

I am in the market for a gtx 460 1gb video card. I want one that costs 229. no more than that

Anyways, I saw different ones like:

Gigabyte(Two Fans)

Asus (Blue Shroud)

EVGA( Reference design)

EVGA( External Exhaust )

The MSI( No shroud design)

and others. I want Silence and cooling. The looks dont really matter, my V6 Blacx Case doesn't have a window or anything

Which one should I get??

Thanks for all your help and keep up the good work

the MSI GTX 460 hawk is said to arrive next month to replace the cyclone version according to the MSI event that we they had here last saturday...

Late October for 6770 and 6870. Chinese AIBs already have samples and are mass producing cards.

6770 = 5850 in performance at slightly higher than current 5770 prices.
6870 = ~35% faster than 5870 for ~$440 USD.

I'd wait a bit. These are going to be the last new cards coming out for a long while as the next transition to 28nm isn't due til Q4 2011 according to TSMC and globalfoundaries.

I went for a gainward GLH edition with 1gb ram and the core clocked to 800mhz out the box. This card, which i havent tested yet, should perform on par with a stock radeon 5850 which costs 1/4 more here in norway.

Can't go wrong with evga ones. THey are awesome.

I would not get excited about southern islands. Who knows how it could turn out.

Are you really giving people performance estimates based off a random Vantage score? Yikes.

Link to the pricing? That would be interesting to me. I'd also like to know what a 5850 will cost afterso I can Xfire. 😉

Before upgrading to the 480 I used to get the Gigabyte which is extremely quiet and running cool. (34c idle & 60c load)
If you o/c I would recommend the Asus one, however.

I love my Gigabyte. Dual mounted fans = coolest and most quiet video card I've ever ran and it's overclocked to 900/1800/2000. Idle's at 27C and 65C full load.

The Gigabyte one is the best one available currently. It's not hard to overclock it yourself, no point in paying that overclocked premium.
