Which GTS has the best 2D quality??

I'm talking 1600x1200 @ 75Hz here, not that wimpy 1024 and 1280 stuff.
Any input will be appreciated.

My Creative Labs GeForce 2 Ultra does a great job at 1600x1200. I modified the RFI circuitry though. I recently tried out my Leadtek 32MB GeForce 2 board with 1600x1200 75Hz and it was pretty good. Almost as good as my modified Ultra.

All standard GTS's will basically have the same 2D performance since they're running the same NVidia Detonator driver set. Don't expect Matrox-type 2d from any GTS card running at high resolutions.

well the reason I asked is because I've heard on many occasion that the quality varies between manufacturers. All I want is 2D thats about comparable to my 5500.

Most of the people i know will agree that the GTS doesn't achieve the 2D quality of a V5500. A lot of people on these forums will also tell you that they're not too happy with 2D performance from NVidia cards. NVidia really focuses on 3D but i guess forgets that 2D is just as important (if not more).

I forgot to add what Insomnium said. The 2d on any GF2 won't be as good as that of a Matrox, Radeon, or a v3/4/5. But if you were to get the best, then a ELSA or possibly a VisionTek.

S/U/M/A makes GF2 with special filters that greatly improve 2D. finally a manufacturer is admitting the fact about the crappy 2D and doing something about it.

I recently switched over from a Voodoo3 to the ELSA Gladiac Geforce2 GTS, and I run my display at 1600x1200x32 @75 Hz. The 2D quality is excellent and I didn't see much of a difference from the Voodoo3 card it replaced. From what I've read everywhere, ELSA (made by Visiontek), Visiontek and Leadtek have the best 2D quality of all the GTS cards out there.

Well, I have a creative labs 64MB on the way, I'll prolly stick it on the for sale/trade forum and see if I can swap it out

I have an Elsa Gladiac and the 2d quality was alright, but then I modified the RFI circuitry like Adam and the 2d quality is excellent now.
