Which graphic card to buy?

Just to be clear iam a greenhorn

Which card should i buy, MSI GeForce GTX 1070 Ti GAMING 8GB or MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Armor OC 8GB (little more expensive). If u had any other suggestions i will love to hear them (between prices of
these two cards)
I know that cards cost a lot more bcs of mining, form what i hear it wont change soon so iam just gonna buy it anyway, had crappy computer for 2 years, cant play anything and now i have good job and i want to have fun.

What is your current computer situation and resolution you are using?

At 1080p it would probably be better going for a 1060 6 gb version then either of those unless you don't plan on upgrading for a long time.

I own an MSI Gaming (X?) GTX 1070ti, I paid $525 from Newegg back in early Jan. 2018. I know the prices kind of went up since then, and haven't quite returned back to near-normal.

(At the time, the "NiceHash Profitability Calculator" said I could make $140/mo with that card. Now it says less than $35/mo.)

The "Armour" versions don't have that great of cooling on them. It's not so bad with GTX 1060/1070 cards, but I personally wouldn't buy one on a GTX 1080 or higher. Their "gaming" cooling lineup is pretty dang solid, so I'd personally go that route.

First wait two weeks. Profit in mining is low now. If the price for coins doesn't go up, then price will drop some bit. I don't know where you wanna buy a card, at newegg a 1070ti is around 600$, 1080 680$. That's a waste of money. Buy a GTX1060 6Gb instead for 350-380$ or lower if price comes a bit down. A 1060 6Gb is perfectly fine for playing in 1080p most games with max settings. Then wait for next gen in Q3,Q4, sell your 1060 6Gb for 200$ and invest your saved 300$ from not buying a 1080/1070Ti now to buy a 500$ card, which is newest gen. So it'll have the newest features and i'm sure for 500$ you'll get a card which is quite a bit faster than a 1080 at the time.
