Which GPU helps video encoding?

I hear the 8000-9000 series Nvdia cards support CUDA encoding.... does it mean when using applications like Adobe Premiere, Vegas, TMPGEnc, XVid4PSP all supports this or at least helps support it. I am getting a q9550 intel which hopefully will help 720/ 1080p encoding avc or equivalent?

As far as I know the application you have listed are CPU dependent.

CUDA support has been added to products from Cyberlink, Photoshop and Badaboom.

ONLY applications that SPECIFICALLY say they do so can use the GPU to encode... as wreckage said... cyberlink, photoshop, and badaboom...
Also, folding@home has an nvidia GPU client.
