Which GeFroce 2 Ultra?

Okay I have my heart set on a geforce ultra, but there are a LOT of different ones, that I see. Like Leadtek, Guillemot, Gladiac. Which is the best to get for all out performance?😕

Damn they're all very close I'm sure. I've always been fond of Creative Labs for their performance and stability, but just get a card that's the one you want. They're all going to be VERY VERY close, and if you use the NVidia drivers, there even harder to seperate out.

Look @ the cooling aspects on the card - The power rating on the Fan and the RAM Sinks. Also think about company wise, which would have better support?

Perhaps you should ask what color you want it in? :Q

Yeah, the Ultra does not leave much for those companies to change. Therefore, just look for the best price and/or features (like do you want TV-Out).

I have a Hercules ProphetII Ultra and I am very happy!

I'd go for the cheapest card that has all of the features you want. Performance-wise, the cards should be pretty much the same.

All Ultras are not created equal. You've probably heard talk about poor 2D image quality on nVIDIA's in general at high resolutions, especially on Trinitron monitors... well, some cards are worse than others.

I'd definitely recommend going with Visiontek (they manufacturer ELSA cards too)...they use the best components on their boards and have the best image quality in 2D. A couple of my friends have or had Visiontek ultras. Whatever you do...try to get a card that was recently manufactured...not one that has been on the shelf for a couple months. The yields on the memmory is better for the more recently manufactured cards and, thus, your card should overclock better.

And don't worry about the heatsink and cooling fan, only the RAM sinks. If your going to OC your chip at all you should replace the heatsink with a copper heatsink fan combo of your own and use some Artic Silver thermal epoxy to attach the sink. Just my opinion...

Get a Canopus Spectra 8800 🙂
Canopus makes the best video cards hands down.
IF you want one you're going to have to go to japan (they are not sold in the usa)
