Which GeForce4 drivers to load (detonator drivers of Chaintech drivers)? Please help a newbie.

I purchased a new GF4 TI 4200 card from ChainTech. It's their GT21 model (128MB). I know that nVidia makes their reference Detonator drivers. What is the difference between these drivers and the driver that came from ChainTech? Which one's should I use?

Or maybe I have it all wrong and they are independent from eachother and I somehow use both???

Please help me untangle this question.

Thank you.

You can use either,I would use Nvidia reference drivers because they are updated the fastest (I`m doing the same thing with my Leadtek card, using Nvidia drivers rather then Leadtek)so go here and install the 29.42 drivers ,the Chaintech drivers are basically the same drivers but modded by Chaintech slightly so you might get a slightly different look or extra features(if any) in their driver display panel etc,btw if you do decide to go with Chaintech drivers after install of Nvidia drivers ,make sure you remove the Nvidia drivers first.

You can use either but not both at the same time.

I would probably start with the Chaintech drivers since they will be pretty-much up-to-date DX8.1 drivers. And, its my understanding, that if the card has extra features like 3d-glasses or VIVO then you need the manufacturers drivers for those features to work.

If you just have the plain card with no extra features then use the Detonators because they will be slightly more up to date now -- and will be updated more frequently then Chaintech's
