Which GeForce?

I am looking for a video card with a TV output. I have narrowed it down to the MSI GeForce2 64 DDR for $120 at NewEgg and the MSI GeForce3 64MB DDR for $238 at NewEgg, both with TV out. I am only a moderate gamer, with most of my games being Command and Conquer type games. Every once and a while I'll start up Quake 3. For my purposes, would the GeForce3 be worth the extra $118 over the GeForce2?

I'm certainly not a video card expert (in fact I'm trying right now to learn enough to figure out which card to buy for myself), but in my humble opinion, for the uses you stated, get the GeForce2. In a review of another GeForce3 card on C|net from 9-6-01 (found here), they said:

"...the benefits of the GeForce3's new architecture won't mean anything until games designed for it become available later this year. We tested Gainward's $287 CardExpert GeForce3 PowerPack with two key questions in mind: First, is GeForce3 necessary to run today's games? And second, is it worth buying a GeForce3 card now to take advantage of tomorrow's games? Unfortunately, the answer to both questions--for the time being--is no."

Hope that helps! I also hope it's not breaking the forum rules to quote that article, since it's copyrighted. (?)
