Hi everybody. I know that people have asked for video card brand recommendations countless times already, but I've been unable to find much guidance for what I'm interested in. I've decided to get a GeForce Ti4200 with 128 megs because I don't want to feel the need to upgrade it for a long time. I'd like to be able to overclock it a little bit, at least so it's on par with the 64 meg cards. I'm also thinking about buying some heavy-duty Zalman fanless heatsink from silicon acoustics.
Originally, I was considering a Visiontek card, until I read in the forums somewhere that they've been having financial problems. Maybe I'm just superstitious, but I'd rather not risk any experiences with companies that might go out of business soon and be unable to provide support, should the need arise. So I've since been considering Leadtek and Chaintech. Are there any notable differences? Because the prices at NewEgg are comparable, but the photos show that Leadtek comes with a gigantic heatsink, and if I'm going to be replacing that anyway, then I'm wondering if I'd get more milage or value out of the Chaintech?
Or are there any other brands that you'd recommend?
Thanks a ton.
