Which Geforce 8800 GTX vender would you choose?

Looking forward to some thoughts and, if any, reviews (Quality, Step-up programs, Pros, Cons, Comments, Driver support, Life time warranty, Bundle, OC Performance, Tech Support etc etc).

I read that the cards were made by Flextronics but it seems that several venders, according too http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=2873&p=1 , have slightly different speeds and different temps. I also read several eVGA G80 reviews; not only the one posted in this article but others (google it), show that the ACS3 version of the GTX runs much cooler. Sadly though I have not been able to get any figures for the non-ACS3 version and compare the 2 considering that the only people that seem to have been able to get this card are in fact the "reviewers".

EVGA ACS3 version. EVGA because of great support and step up program. Theyre support is just amazing, and can be seen by their actions, e.g trying to fix the problem of the g71 series. Add in lifetime warranty as well.

Or Leadtek. Although support lacks, theyre quality in the form of their cards are simply the best in my experience.

Or BFG. Good support and lifte time warranty.

Stay away from XFX. They took their own forums down due to toom many complaints last time i heard.

I could go into indepth, but you get the point.

I bet EVGA will dominate! Usually, I judge a company by its box art. When I first saw the EVGA box, I was very skeptical. But then I grew to love it. EVGA FTW!

(1) EVGA - About the best customer support & without question the best warranty ... true lifetime plus it allows you to change the heatsink as long as you don't do physical damage to the card & to overclock without voiding coverage.

(2) BFG - Also has great customer support & true lifetime warranty, but swapping heatsink or overclocking voids it, which puts it a notch below EVGA.

(3) Asus - Reliable customer support, but can be difficult to contact & slow turnaround on RMA's - 3 year warranty on most products.

Because all of the cards are identical, eVGA or BFG for the warranty.

Personally, I'd lean toward BFG because they are ~8 miles away from me so turnaround time is like one day.

Great choice, except they haven't put out the ACS3 version yet. I would suggest a the regular 8800GTX from EVGA though. It's really ok because as far as I know, NVIDIA has not allowed the manufacturers to factory OC the cards anyway. So, the ACS3 version basically just has an additional shroud on the cooler, but it's not a "KO" or "SuperClock" version of the card and there is no reason to expect the ACS3 version to outperform or overclock higher than any other 8800GTX.

Wow - No mixed emotions here, it is clear to see that eVGA is on top.

So the advice here is "if you want a Geforce 8800 GTX, get the eVGA but purchase it sometime in January as you have a better chance to get the G84 which should be out by March/April; that way you can then apply for the step-up program". Good to know!!

G84 is a midrange card, and likely out around Feb./ March.

Personally I like Leadtek, and that's who I recommend to people.

I'm not sure if there's a price difference between them and other companies, so you'll need to take that into consideration.

Overclocking is not, but supposedly there will be no factory overclocked cards.

I totally agree with that, but EVGA always seems to be the least expensive of the three. BFG for some reason is usually a tad bit more than EVGA. I've never owned an Asus video card before, as they are generally considerably more than the equivalent competition (often they do have a bigger bundle though). I am a total Asus fan boy when it comes to their motherboards though, seldom do I even look at other brands seriously.
