Which GeForce 2 card has best 2D quality?

I understood the 2D quality was shady on some of the cards and it wasn't because of the actual GPU, it was because of lower quality filters that some of the manufacturers used. Am I wrong? Which card would have the best 2D quality out of the lot of GeForce 2's?

Thanks.

If you go with a GF2 card, get the pro from Gainward. I'm not sure which one it is, but my friend has it and it's a good card.

Gainward always gets great reviews in the 2D quality department. I have one of their G3s, the 2D is very good (3D rocks of course😀). Nice clean text, ect. , easy on the eyes.

I wouldn't expect all that much difference in any of the cards, although I could be wrong. I bet whatever differences exist are small.

Elsa had good quality. The reason is VisionTek actually produced the cards for Elsa. A VisionTek or Elsa scard will ne good. Creative and Hercules were horrible.

If you're looking for a GF2, you should try to buy a GTS or Pro model. I think I recently saw a GF2 GTS @ newegg for around 49 dollars, which is a good price for this type of card. However, with the price of GF3's and Radeon 8500's coming down, you might want to spend a few extra dollars, and get one of the better 3d cards. And if all you're interested in is 2d, then you probably should also consider ATI and Matrox cards...
