well im a strategy nut, especially futuristic strat titles, so for me it'd be:

dawn of war 2: chaos rising (expansion pack)
starcraft 2

Metro 2033
Disciples 3
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. COP
DOW 2: Chaos Rising

I want to say Diablo III but it's technically NOT coming out in 2010. Christmas 2010 is almost 2011 ;)

Brink. Look it up. Made by Splash Damage. It seems to be an FPS with light RPG elements, and the gameplay itself is a cross between ET (objective based levels) and TF2 (different classes for different play styles). As you gain levels, you'll unlock new customization options for your guy's appearance. I couldn't tell if someof these also gave you in-game advantages, such as armor increasing your survivability. I'd imagine that is the case.

Overall it seems like a very solid game from the few gameplay videos they have released. It uses the id Tech 4 engine extremely well and is very slick looking. Slated for Fall 2010 release.

Hmm ... well, Total Annihiliation Core Contingency is by far my overall favorite RTS of all time by an enourmous margain.

SC was fun, but IMO, was not good enough for "turtle" games like TA was ... (which was my favorite way to play, epic 500 unit, turtle vs turtle games with 100s of krogoths in play that would go on for 6+ hours.)

Forged Aliance fixed a lot of SC issues, but still, I like TA:CC a lot better.

I am hopefully about SC2, but, I'm not going to get too carried away with hype.

Otherwise ... Fallout Vegas sounds promising ....

IMO, the turtling nature of TA turned me off. It's fun when it's the first tier stuff, but when you get into the late game stuff, it's a bit ridiculous. Mind you I played TA first, then SC, then SC:BW and never returned to TA.

So I was initially in that crowd that laughed at the pitifully low unit count of SC, but after playing SC, that stopped. Oh and it helps that most of my high school classmates played SC. Maybe 1 or two played TA compared to dozens who played SC. So yeah, just organizing the games was easier too. If TA had a centralized solution, maybe things woulda been different?

But yeah - SCII hopefully in 2010. Otherwise, I'm not really waiting on anything else this year.

If you enjoy ME1, you'll definitely want to put ME2 on your list as well.

I had previously began playing ME1 but my hard drive began failing and I was only quasi getting into it.
Mainly the fact that I had went sniper I think was causing me an issue. I think I hate the way the sniper played in it. But the story was quite enjoyable.

Can't say I'm really looking forward to anything this year. I want to play Bioshock 2 because I liked the 1st one, but doubt I'll buy it at regular price.

Alpha Protocol sounds interesting but I want to wait to see how it is before buying. If it gets good reviews I might buy it when it comes out or shortly after.

Diablo 3 would be cool too if it comes out, but it doesn't sound like it will.

"The Settlers 7: Paths to a Kingdom"

So we're up to 7 now... wow didnt know they were still making settlers games. I played the third one, it was fun.

Ooh, really? I really liked the last one, Rise of an Empire I think. It had its problems but it was a fun little city building game.
