I think Microsoft only sells two wheels. Spring loaded Microsoft Precision, and the ForceFeedback model. Both are USB. They did sell a gameport version of the FF wheel. AFAIK these gameport models are no longer available. My guess says that those are all functionally the same wheel. One of the detailed descriptions did not list XP as a supported OS. Probably an old description of a current product. Hope this helps and I'll see ya in the pits.

thanks,

one question is, those regular wheels don't offer very 'precise' control of a car..

it's either 'center', 'far left' and 'far right' .. but when i try those force wheels at local store, they all seem to 'click' on every little turn.. so i wonder if force wheel have much better control over regular..

any idea?

IMHO both wheels offer the same amount of control. The slight click you feel is the stepping of the force feedback motor. All force wheels that I have tried exhibit this to some degree. The spring loaded MS Precision has a slight detent at the center or home position. When I first got mine I really didn't notice it much. It was my first wheel. Since then I've upgraded several times. Now when I drive it that little center detent is very annoying.
I prefer driving the MSFF even if the FF is turned off. My main complaint on the MS wheels is the cheap plastic clamp that holds it onto the desk. If left clamped to the desk for extended periods of time the clamp will weaken to the point where it won't hold to the desk very well. Unclamp it when not in use for the best results.
Both are decent enough starter wheels. Often times true quality proves to be the wiser investment. After wearing out several plastic wheels, I purchased a Thomas-Superwheel. No regrets even at the premium price.
Speed costs money. How fast do you want to go?

See ya in the pits.
