which fry's deal is better 2200/shuttle or 2600/ecs

The ECS is fine. They are perfect for low/no maintenanace no overclocking boards... like an OEM experience. I have built a lot of ECS boards and they have run reliably for years...meaning no maintenance calls for me...I like that.

The only bad ones I had were ones that were returned to Frys and they had visible scratches on the pcb where some doofus tried to put a cpu on and screwed it up.

And then there is this kind of computer professional

I would go with the ECS. I also have the shuttle set up for me 'cuz I like to oc and I built the ECS one yuesterday for my girlfriend 'cuz she doesn't even know what overclock is :)

The AN35N Ultra is the better board *if* you plan on overclocking. Otherwise, it's extra features are wasted. Having said that the 2600+ deal is better, because in the end you only pay $15 for the ECS board, which even someone who has had bad experiences with ECS in the past will agree is a good price :D
