Which free car to get?

My new job at my company gets the perk of a free company car. I get to choose from a new Ford Taurus or Suburu Outback. Or, I can order a specific car and wait a few months, which I don't mind doing.

My wife and I have two children ages 2 and 6 months. We currently drive a 4D Pontiac G6 and I will likely be getting rid of my car. We'd like something that would work well for the family and are thinking a wagon or smaller SUV.

So, what would you guys get if you were in my situation and had to pick a vehicle under $25k? I always get my cars stripped and don't care much for options so keep that in consideration.

Well in the case of kids I'd say the Subaru. Probably big enough inside for everyone and their stuff.

What sort of job? Will the car be used just for commuting or will you have clients in the car? I like the new Taurus.

The car will only be used for driving to work and back, and I'm allowed to use it as my car. I'm looking for something bigger to haul the family and we already have a 4D sedan with the Pontiac G6.

I do like the looks of the Chevy Equinox but wish it were a little bigger. The Traverse looks perfect, but is a couple grand too much. Maybe I can convince them... 🙂

The Taurus is pretty huge. Bigger than most cars that pass for full size these days. Probably to the point of being too big though. Reminds me too much of the Crown Vic.

I'd probably go with the Outback.

I'm aware, its a huge car. However it's not a wagon like the Outback, which might be beneficial to a family.

If your looking at SUV's then don't count out the 2011 Edge.
