Which for boot drive? Vertex 2 120gb, or Agility 3 - 60gb?

I just got a OCZ Vertex2 120gb to build a HTPC/file server Win7 machine. It'd be the boot drive, with another 2TB drive.

Now I am debating if I should exchange that for Agility3 60gb?

Does the added performance of Agility3 matter in my case? or the larger size of 120gb is better in the long run making sure the drive is not trimmed as much. I assume my win7 boot files will take 30-40gb.

Thanks

I would not use a Sandforce based drive in that environment unless it was an enterprise SLC based version. I practically live over at the OCZ forum and have seen more than a few who have complained about speed degradation and slow recovery times(regardless of trim availability). Random data and no GC time is a bad mix for that particular controller.

But yes.. capacity is always the greatest defense against degradation for any SSD.

Windows 7 should consume less than 20GB of space.

I would definitely use the Agility 3 in the HTPC. The larger capacity of your Vertex 2 would be more useful in your personal rig, where you're more likely to install more crap, if that's what you're asking.

Thanks but this is my personal rig too, it's HTPC, gaming, file server.

Is Agility 3 better in long-term for degredation?
