There's no export contacts option somewhere? I know you can do it in Outlook Express.

I'm pretty sure there is an export option. That was what I used last time I got a new hard drive.

Outlook stores EVERYTHING in a .PST file:

File>Import/Export>Export to a File>Personal Folder File (.pst)

Not quite. The suggestions it stores elsewhere.

You can also find the .pst file in this location.

C:\Documents and Settings\(Username)\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.pst

I've just reinstalled my OS onto a new drive, and I had to copy this file to get my emails back. It also copied my address book.

Sometimes.

If Outlook is talking directly to Exchange the Contacts folder resides on the server unless you've moved it to a .pst.

If you are not using Exchange, then yes, everything lives in a .pst including Contacts.
