I would get rid of all of them if I could. Being more realistic, I'd get rid of all of them except the DoD, the DoVA, the DoState, and the DoTreasury. I'd streamline those ones however.

Your poll lumps agencies with radically different missions and doesn't make much sense.

This is BS. The idea of federal budget cuts is to remove redundancies and reduce specific operations, not remove whole sections altogether.

It leads me to conclude that he doesn't even know what the departments he wants to abolish actually do.

What it should lead you to believe is that he really doesn't know anything at all. He's a kid who lives at home who is nothing but a dittohead for his father, or worse, for websites where he does no research on his own. Somebody has spoon fed him this trash.

Or, alternatively, he's just some ridiculous kid who has no real idea how people live or make money in the world. He thinks he knows everything but really knows nothing.

It could be amusing to introduce him to his future self. Once people move out of mommy's care and have a job, own property, etc. they tend to give up the "anarchy is cool" idea in favor of regulations, safety and property rights.

Not that they work perfectly, but having the EPA and FDA for safer food, drugs and drinking water makes sense to grown-ups.

Agree 100%. However, there are those rare individuals who maintain, throughout life, that having no government is better than having a government . These people usually fall into two categories, the insane, and the stupid.

Either this kid is young/stupid, and will be old, insane and/or stupid.

Naturally he'll argue that the FDA and EPA don't prevent abuses and only cause problems in the "free market". Thus, without them, the "free market" won't ever pollute and would be far more efficient. Silly anarchists...

LMAO.

No, the Free market works better. The FDA has been a huge failure, and Tom Coburn just pointed out that their overregulation was what caused the latest salmonella scare. It's infested by Big Pharma agents, and it's responsible for the deaths of many people.

The worst pollution is on government property. The EPA sucks.

See, what did I tell ya?

Silly fuckwit thinks that no regulation would lead the "free market" to behave perfectly and not cause any problems at all. This is because they'd be scared of going out of business. Too bad that's already been proven false.

Any failure is used as proof of useless existence and utter failure. Lack of proof of the opposite of failure equates to failure.

The classic lose-lose situation with illogical morons. Dunning-Kruger Effect.

The COE. Fuck those bastards, I hope the top guys die in a fire. Even better, send em down here for some coonass justice. I would give a very large portion of my wealth in return for the latter and I know for a fact a lot of other people would as well.

I wouldn't get rid of many federal functions, but I would re-organize and consolidate some of them. I would rename the DOD the Department of War. Let's stop surgar-coating it.

If that's the case, then wouldn't your precious Free Market be the cause of the problem?

Just get rid of DoD entirely and roll the last 25% into DHS, so it sticks to actual homeland defense instead of fighting stupid wars to justify its budget.
But DHS was one department I want to get rid of. I don't want all its functions extinguished but I want it shattered back into a million dysfunctional pieces. DHS is possibly the single dumbest and most dangerous idea ever passed into law by a US Congress. The day DHS functions as the unified body that Congress intended it to be is the day freedom dies.

The free market as defined by Adam Smith? Not quite what you think.

Let me get this straight, without regulation those big pharma agents would not have been replaced with unscrupulous greedy individuals who don;t care about safety?

THe 19th century called, its lonely.
