One of the store I order from went out of business..

Which heat sink fits good for a P3 - non overclocker..
Preferred Alphas.. Do I get the one with the feet or w/o the rubber feet ?

I see some people have problems fitting them in..
Are all alpha from every store the same fit or everyone has their own stuff ?

So let me know which model... I know 2coolteks, 3dfxcool, cpucool, cpuforless, etc.etc..

just want to know which model is good enough. Thanks..

If you're not overclocking and worried about getting a heatsink that fits, I would recommend the Golden Orb. It fits nicely in there and provides good cooling. Although not as effecient as an Alpha heatsink it shouldn't matter as long as you don't go into heavy overclocking. I'm using a Golden Orb and I have my P3 700 clocked to 1008. Heat doesnt' seem to be a problem. The CPU idels at 89F when I use CPU Idle, without CPU Idle it idles at about 95F, which is still well below the spec of 158F.

I know you preferred the Alpha heatsinks but I'm just giving you an alternative. You'll save a few bucks too. As far as the feet go with the Alphas I have an Alpha PAL35T at home. I haven't installed it yet because I haven't felt like going through all the trouble. It does have the little feet and for P3s you would want the feet. Stops the heatsink from sliding on top of the slug.

I actually have a few orbs... was told it didn't fit okay with the cusl2 but I didn't see a problem... wonder why people are having problem....
Probably just get a orb then..

the gorb fits, it is just a bit tight getting the left hand side clip in on my cusl2... the capacitors have to be pushed quite a bit to the side so that I can fit that side fo the clip in.

And the reason i've been recommending the taisol is because it performs better than the gorb.

Gorb works fine. i have my 700@980 w/ Gorb at 1.75v. shouldn't be a problem. my temps are about a degree or two lower than DO97's

I installed a Gorb in my CUSL2 without touching the capacitors at all... You just have to be really careful and forceful at the same time... I hate putting that sucker on because I think the clip on mine doesn't open 100% so that makes things tough... Once it's on though, my temps don't go above 43°C at the absolute highest

You know what, I don't even need the special fan... I had a ABit va6 and put my P3-733 on it and retail fan to test, it was burning warm.. not hot yet...

I put the same cpu in the CUSL2 and retail fan... all default setting/voltage @ 1.65. It's bearly warm, room temp cool. So I don't need a expensive fan.. I thought the cpu was heating the room but it was the motherboard... so happy using retail fan...
