Which external HD for my home PC..

Hi guys
I need an external HD to replace one of my dead internal HD..since Imy case mess up inside....
I am looking at WD my book essential and My book home
what is the difference between those?
I do download everyday, and I will download to the external HD directly, if so, which one is better? or any other brands or model? e.x: Lacie, Iomega,etc...and I only need 500GB

but the all have the same RPM and cache? or different?
anyone knows the other brands?

RPM don't make a difference for USB conections, well, not much anyway.
For eSata, it does though.
