im just looking to increase the visibility of my 6pack. Currently, its difficult to see, unless turned at a slight angle, i just want to rip it more. Ive been doingsit up crunches for a long time and i want to try something new because sometimes, i hurt my neck down the crunches, (yes, i know improper crunches, but i try to keep it right). Im looking at those wheel things with handles, you knowm that you roll on while on your knees. Do those work? It sure seems to strengthen your abs, however, im looking not only to strengthen, but to make visible the 6 pack. It seems as if those ab roller things, pop out thr muscles more. im totally guessing, so i need your help, should i get those roller things or the metal frame stuff?

try getting one of those things where it shocks your ab's or something. those look like they work.

I am a self confessed work out nut... I like alternating crunches and leg lifts. With the crunches most people curl their neck toward thier knees. Instead: Keep your neck straight, press upward. I tell people to pretend they are going to touch their nose to the ceiling. This takes out the neck strain and forces you abs to do the work and not your quads. The legs lifts work the lower abs when done like this: Sit down and then lay back on your elbows. This puts your body at a 40 degree incline. Now raise your legs 6 inches and don't go below that. Using a 4 count raise and lower alternating for a set of 10. Repeat as needed. I think stretching is AS important. When done doing an ab set, roll over on you stomach and push up like a seal.

Avoid those machines. There are no short cuts and no EASY methods. This is resculpting we are talking about. 6-8 months for changes.
Good luck.

I use the brake pedal. Works best on slick/icy surfaces. Remember not to pump ABS.

OK, don't fall over laughing, but a bunch of the guys at work who are into the martial arts swear by Pilates. I *know* it is strongly associated with dancers, but if the way these guys look is any indication it does wonders for overall muscle tone throughout the entire torso. Should make the six-pack stand out nicely without too much bulk. It is also great for flexibility, etc., and it complements existing workouts well.

As I'm sure you know, you're always better off working multiple muscle groups instead of focusing too heavily on one.

Do not bother with machines.
