WHich DVD TO GET please ADVISE! =)

I am looking for a good DVD rom and i am not sure which to buy and all??
i am wondering if the Lite On DVD is good???

here are my choices

DVD samsung
Pioneer
Lite on
artec (are these guys good)

all are 16x and all

i have issues with my own pioneer 12X and so does my roomate? they don't read in the long run?? has this happened to anyone, i am wondering about the Lite ON and all???

but if you have to choose one of the others I'd pick the Pioneer

I have the Pioneer Slot DVD 106s. It's a great drive, and looks cool too. I think you should get one of those...or any other Pioneer DVD drive.

Yeah... I think the slot drives are a great idea... here is why....

Most DVD's you hire will have a sticker on the inside hole of the disk. This sticker gets hot while using the disk in your drive and can stick to the 'mount ' inside your drive therefore getting stuck in the drive when you try to open it... Bummer.

With a slot loading DVD player you don't have to damage the disk or take the sticker off... mind you it is still a good idea to take the sticker off the disk or to just steer clear of the DVD's with the stickers on them. Believe me when I say this as a friend of mine found this out the hard way and after ruining 2 DVD's.

Plus the slot loading DVD players do look cool!!!!!😀

Yeah, another vote for the Pioneer. I installed the 106s in my bro-in-law's system and it's been abused by children and it still runs flawlessly.
