Which DVD software would you buy?

So I need new DVD playback software. I'm trying the WinDVD 7 trial version and so far I like it. It cost $39.95. The standard PowerDVD 6 is on sale right now for 34.95. Has anyone seen these two side by side? Opinions on which one is better?

I use WinDVD, but most say it's more bloated.

it doesn't have as many features as Win or PowerDVD, but NeroShow is pretty good. It comes with Nero 7. Not free, but if you want Nero 7 it's an added bonus.

Check which has more features you can use and go with that. The difference between the 2 really isn't that significant IMO. Either works very well.

VLC because it ignores the idiotic UOP flags that studios horribly abuse to make you sit through their commericals. No device I own playing media I own should be telling *me* what's prohibited to skip.

I could be wrong on this, but i don't think media player classic comes with a DVD decrypter. That means it will only work if you've installed some other software that does have a dvd decrypter, such as nero burning rom or powerdvd. I use VLC player. In any case i don't think there is any point in buying windvd or power dvd since the cost money and are both worse than VLC.

Actually I've been using them side by side and so far WinDVD looks better than VLC. I'll try out the Media player and see how it looks.....

I have an OEM version of WinDVD 5. I never use it. Sticking with one player is def the best way. No need to mess with nasty codecs and potentially spyware.
