This is in Canadian funds!
This BenQ DW822A
It says BenQ will be offering a dual layer upgrade on Sept. 30 for it...i am a fool to believe that?
I really wasn't even gonna get a DVD RW, but getting a DVD-ROM/CD-RW is only a bit cheaper, so i figured why not get another DVD RW.
I don't really wanna spend much more than this one though.
The NEC 2510 has dual layer now, which is nice, but it's another $45 more.
I know the NEC 2500 has the hacked firmware upgrade, & it's only $112.13 @ NCIX.com, but i'm not sure if it's worth screwing around with.
If anyone has a better recommendation for a really affordable dual layer DVD RW that i can order in Canada...please let me know asap...or convince me this BenQ is not a good deal.
Suggestions/personal experience welcome!
Edit: I know the BenQ only burns the dash/minus/- format at 4x, that's okay with me since i prefer the + media
