Wich dual-core processor would you prefer: Athlon 64x2 3800+ or Pentium D 830. I will be doing 3D graphics (dual core used intensely). I won´t OVERCLOCK it and my primary concern is STABILITY.
Thnks for your advice.

With stability, I would go with 2x 1.6GHZ opetrons, ECC registered ram, and a Opetron motherboard that supports 2 processors.

Either processor should give you rock solid stability at default clocks. I would prefer the X2 3800 myself but since i have an overclocked X2 4400+ I am biased, LOL.

Yes, the Dual opterons (if you have the budget) , but if not the X2 wuld definitely be the way to go. See the thread here about problems with a fleet of Pentium D 830's that were built for a company, overheating, throttleing,etc... No contest.

I guess I will go for the AMD x2 3800+. The two Opteron solution seems to bee too expensive and less silent (two coolers instead of one).
Thks for the advice.
