I already have a great X2 but I am building another rig. I want an even better OC, I know i am greedy ! :)

Which of the Opterons....165, 170, 175 or X2's.....4400, 4800 can hit at least 3 Ghz on air for the least amount of money spent ?

I doubt any of those will hit 3ghz, and probably only the 4800+ may surpass your 2.75ghz. IMO the only current chips that can hit 3ghz on air are the FX57 and possibly the single core opty 146

Neither have I. I've seen kind of a lot of 2.7-2.8 reports though, which is basically what I'm hoping for when I get my 170. I don't think you (the OP) will really gain much at all over your current overclock (which is really quite nice). Since you say you're building another rig (separate from your current one), I'd just go with a 165 if you can find it, or a 170 if you need the 10x multiplier - but you shouldn't really expect 3GHz on air.

Yeah some I have seen get to 2.9 or so. Just want to see a better OC than what I have already.

I'm going to be replacing my XP90 with its 55CFM fan for a XP90C with a 124CFM Tornado next week just to see if I can get beyond 2.85Ghz (which I had stable for 6 to 8 hours but ran at 60oC with 1.55v).

Will keep you posted.

Not worth the noise and cost difference!

Probably not but that won't stop me from using my XP-90C with a 152 CFM Delta . . . :p

3GHz Dual core AMD?? Maybe when Dual-Core FXs come out but even then . . .

Cost is not a problem - will be retiring my Neo2 into my PVR and use my XP90 on my old Winnie 3000+.

I'm going to run the fan through a speed controller so will probably run it at 50%, anyway, which is reportedly quite quiet...

As I have said before I would like to go for water but I don't have the confidence to build it.

Change of mind I think I'll try the SI-120 instead! I have a nice 94CFM 12CM fan to go on it.

Well I am seeing a 175 or two that hit 2.9. I want to see a 165 hit at least close to 2.9 or maybe even 3.0.
