Which drug for a sprain?

ibprofen or naxopren... which ever your tummy reacts better to.

They both work equally well for me, however I like ib better since it is cheaper.

Be a man. Besides, if your body is telling you that it's hurt, it's not very wise to numb that pain so you can walk on the injury.

don't be a wimp, walk it off
you don't need any drugs for a sprain

although ibuprofen should help with the swelling

All of them are NSAIDS except for acetaminophen. You want something to help with the swelling, so go with whichever NSAID works best for you. If you have them all on hand, try each, at appropriate intervals, and see which helps most.

I, personally, would most likely start with 600-800mg of ibuprofen, and if that didn't make me feel better, try the naproxen sodium.

sodium naproxin is the modern recommendation.

For muscle sprains, muscle relaxors are the best. Unfortunately you cannot do too much on them.

Also tylenol is about the worst thing for liver or your body you can take. If the drug was just discovered today, I don't it could make it to OTC or even Pharmacy status.

The best bet is to suck up the pain and work it out intelligently. Follow ice/heat/stretching etc guidelines.

If you have good health insurance, get a physical therapy appointment.

Ok. I went to Doctor's office today for xrays...and no fracture. He prescribed Naxopren.

I already have a bottle of Advil at home and will ignore his advice.

Thanks.

Psh. I've played tennis on a sprain before.

I couldn't take my shoe off afterwards..but still. Sprains aren't bad.
