i AM UNABLE TO GET THE TV WORKING RIGHT.
I uninstalled the old radion 32 card and pulled it out after and inserted the ATI AIW 9800 pro card, installed the drivers, and it had an echo in the sound. So I uninstalled the drivers again and reinstalled the 6.4 cat ones and the TV was not working. So I uninstalledthose and installef the ATI AIW 5.1 drivers and the ccc
and again no TV
So I uninstalled those and insatalled the Omega Drivers and I cannot get the TV

Any suggestions?

I removed them again and installed the Omega drivers
then went to 5.1 series of ATI drivers and downloaded the Control pannel
control-panel-8-082-041130a-019577c.exe

Installed it and I do not get the TV control pannel showing up and the meny in the Start button's Programs gives it as ghosted.

Are you trying to get the TV tuner to work or the video ouput?

If you are trying to get the tuner to work and you are using a recent version of Multimedia Center then that is your problem as the current versions of MMC do an annoying full time timeshift so that you don't need to use the analog cable to get sound.

However using an older version of MMC after a newer version has been on the machine, doesn't fix the problem, you can tell if analog audio is going to work if when you go through the Initialization Wizard it asks you what Line-In connector to use to record sound.

If it does not ask you what connector to use then it will use that god damn awful full time timeshift and wont use the analog output. If you can get the analog connector to work good luck and there will be no delay in the video and audio.

I personally have given up at this point and will wait until I do a Windows reinstall. Otherwise try different TV tuner software that supports the card as the analog connector will be used. I don't think it matters what version of CCC you use. If it does matter then install CCC using the seperate parts that dial up users use and use an older version of the WDM capture driver and the latest version of everything else.

It really annoys me that ATI removed the option of using the analog connector considering it is far superior!

Good Luck

I fixed it!!!!!!!!

ok I had lots of problems with the ATI drivers and the last time I downloaded the latest Omega drivers, I then installed the 9.03 MCC from ATI and I downloaded the Remote wonder software from ATI. At this point I had lots of noise in audio. This morning I pulled the card out and I pulled the sound cable from my video card and reseated the card and the cable both in the mother board and in the video card sound plug-in.

Amazingly all is working well now!!!

the Omega drivers took away the problem of weird warnings that I need to ask my administrator to give permission to install the software. I am the admin Bwahahahha. Omega drivers killed that glitch.

well I had left for a vacation and now return to find that the sound is what it was before. I get so muchg noise I cannot hear the tv program. Before that I had the echo and I think you may be right as the echo indicated that the old TV sound was working and the new one was delayed so I was getting both at once. Then I removes all folders I could fine with ati software and 8uninstalled all drivers just befor ethe dleting of those folders.
Then reinstalling drivers, I am gettin noise again I suspect the noise is from where my Tv wander was being run with delay software, and the other sound is atempting to play TV in real time, only the old card had a separate input for TV.

What other software runs the ATI TV? I will try that instead. and no this does not offer the record input or the manner to output the sound, I used to output it to Auxiliary now I get no such choice. I have the 5.1 version of The counsol control and I tried the most recent drivers from ati but they were reporting that I cannot install it without my Admin permission. But I am my own admin !@#$%^%$#@!!
So I put in the Omega drivers and used the 5.1 counsol for the TV I still get the noise.

I had an AIW 8500 DV and wasn't able to use the record feature for TV after changing drivers and MMC. What I eventually found was some hidden folders with the names of all the accounts on the system that didn't get uninstalled when I removed the old drivers. Once I deleted them everything was fine. I "think" they were in the Documents and Settings folder somewhere. Don't know if this will help or not, but check around for some ATI related hidden folders. Good luck!
