Which drivers to download?

I recently picked up a MSI Radeon 7770 card and downloaded the latest drivers off AMD's website, but looking at the disc the card came with said to go to event.msi.com/vga/afterburner for the drivers. Would they both be identical? Or would getting the drivers from MSI's own website be more relevant to my card than the generic 7770 drivers on AMD's website?

Well, the drivers direct from AMD are newest. The drivers on MSI's site might be newer than what's on the disk.

Usually the AIB offers drivers on their site for convenience. Many people only know they have a card built by Asus, or Sapphire and don't know that the GPU is built by AMD. So Generally I think they put them there so people can go to the website of the manufacturer on the box and get drivers that are newer than what's packed in. Rather than have people sending emails to them asking where to get newer drivers since the disk has year old ones.

Unless that MSI card has a lot of custom stuff in it, TV tuner, and what not, go directly to AMD and get the latest Catalyst drivers. As of 15 Aug 2012, 12.8. Thats the most current driver for current generation Radeons.
