I want to make a duct for my computer. Need to cut through the thin steel. Everyone I talk to says they use a dremel, but there seems to be many different types. Which one do I need?

A steel nibbler (if you search this forum you will find a lot of info on it) would also be able to do a decent job for much cheaper. A lot of people seem to think that the Black and Decker RTX-1 kit is a good Dremmel for the money. I looked at buying it compared to a similar Dremmel branded one at about the same cost and the B&D looked nicer. Also, beware of the battery powered ones, the batteries supposedly only last 5-10 minutes per charge. No matter what, be prepared to spend at least $50.

That's a bit of an under-exaggeration, but the batteries to my battery powered Dremel lasted no more than 20 minutes. It was very inconvenient, and IMHO the battery powered ones aren't worth sh!t. In fact, the battery to mine died recently, and thus I'm hoping to get a corded Dremel so it will be compatible with all of the attachments that I already have.Originally posted by: BG4533

Proved me wrong... Was this an advertised sale or a clearance or something? I will take a look at Home depot to see if I can get one for that price.
Thanks,
Brian
