Which domain registrar do you use and why?

NameCheap.com > eNom > GoDaddy

I have all of my domains in namecheap. The service just seems better and it was much easier to register a new nameserver there IIRC. I used to use godaddy back in the day.

Hands down Namecheap, I have bought all 25 of my domains with namecheap. They rock. Thanks Ross.

I prefer Namecheap, but I had to go with GoDaddy for one of the TLDs Namecheap didn't carry. So now I'm stuck managing domains in two websites instead of one.

Between the two which has a better sign up process and GUI?

I've used GoDaddy for quite a long time and it's been alright, but I decided to try out their webhosting (my previous group was just atrocious for being unable to charge my debit card.. then finding the proper page for submitting payments took like an hour... literally). But GoDaddy web hosting is absolutely horrible. Not only does my website never work (it's all paid for), you can only change a few settings (where I've been used to CPanel for the longest time, which has quite a lot of settings). It's so bad that I can't even set directory listings....

I FINALLY got all of my names transfered from RegisterFly to Namecheap. I  Namecheap. Registerfly's user interface and customer support sucked donkey nuts.

I have ~$30 stuck in my Registerfly account that I can't seem to find a way to get out... I guess I'll have to use it to register some anti-Registerfly domains

I don't remember anything about either sign up, so they couldn't have been too bad.

Namecheap used to have a more obvious and more powerful GUI, but I just logged into GoDaddy and things look completely redone there. I see bulk and checkboxes several places, so they may have upped the power. I still prefer Namecheap because they use descriptive links over in a sidebar whereas GoDaddy uses dropdowns. I hate having to look through dropdowns for options.

Any thoughts on 1and1.com? They have .coms and such for $5.99. Any reason to not go with them to savea few bucks? I just have one domain I might register. Have one other with godaddy and that's it.

GoDaddy, not the cheapest but reasonable and GREAT service. I recently had to move one domain into one of my two accounts, merging them if you will, and they did it while I was still on the phone with them. Now I only have to remember one login.

Services related to domain pointing and management are easy as well, although I host elsewhere I only buy through GoDaddy...and I have tried many over the years...MANY.

You may save a dollar or two someplace else, but for me it's not worth it in the long run.

If I check WHOIS on my domains, it says they were registered through namecheap, but the registrar is eNom, so are they affiliated?

I like namecheap, I have no complaints. They'll autorenew domains too, which is something I just recently found out about.

I moved all of my domains from GoDaddy to Namecheap after a recommendation from RossMAN. Couldn't be happier: prompt service, wonderfully easy UI and free WHOIS protection when I signed up. :)
