Hey all- I've been hearing about a lot of people using SETIQ instead of SETI Driver (which I use now). Was wondering what most people seem to be running and what you all recommend?
I prefer SetiQ, simply because of the more informational logs/stats that it produces. Other than that, I've used both and found them to be equally useful...
I agree with office boy with one exception. I do like setiQ on a single machine that's on a dialup connection without a dedicated phoneline. SetiQ is able to automatically flush once a day at a specified time which is very handy for a dialup connection.🙂
BTW I run both. SetiDriver runs on all the machines on my network and I keep a days worth of wu's cached on each of them. They all connect to my setiQ server which keeps a weeks worth of wu's cached. SetiQ automatically connects once a night to fetch wu's via my dialup connection. The benefit of this is if my setiQ server crashes or my network goes down then all the other machines are still crunching.🙂
I use SETIQ because I like its stats reporting ,& saving of dropped results
Though I have a LAN for my little home fleet of 3 I still put SETIQ on each machine ,if 1 crashes then the rest can keep going🙂 .(I also like to unplug my hub)
Looks like I may be the only one that uses both on the same machine. On my office box I have both, on my two networks I have Setiq on the "servers" and all have SetiDriver controling the cli. I set SetiDriver to a queue depth of 2 WU's so that it always has something to work on. Setiq has a queue depth of four days. This has worked very well for me!
I like using Setiq so that I can check on my systems in three different location from anywhere on the Internet.
