I reccomended Microsoft Money 2000 to my parents because I read in reviews that is was the better product and was more easy to use. After some aggrivating trouble in the start, once they figured everything out it was smooth sailing. They love it.

Quicken used to be the hands down leader but M$ learned real quick (like they did with browsers) and have pulled even. I've seen reviews that say that each has strengths depending on what you want to do (investments, retirement planning, etc.), so read up and pick what fits your needs.

I went with Money 2000 Deluxe cuz it was super-cheap after rebate at Costco.:)

I used Quicken for approx. 12 years, upgrading about every other year. The first time I need tech support, it was not only on my nickel, but they had no info on me as a registered user. In addition, the "fix" they promised for my problem never arrived.
Anyway, I purchased Money about a year ago, and have been very happy.
