So Im sitting here earlier playing Batman: Arkham Asylum where the lead character, Batman, is voiced by the great Kevin Conroy who voiced Batman in the original Batman: The Animated Series as well as several other related shows and games.

This just go me to thinking that to me, personally, when I think of Batman I think Kevin Conroy and the square-jawed Batman from the animated series. To me and being my favorite as a child has etched this Batman in my brain as the default Batman...followed by Micheal Keaton and Val Kilmer, etc...

This begs the question...which Batman do you consider "the" Batman?

I actually think Val did a damn nice job as the Dark Knight...they should have had him do more movies.

keaton was too square/wimpy, and clooney was leagues too cocky. Bale wasn't bad but when I see him in movies I always feel like its Patrick Bateman playing the role. kilmer had the most appropriate level of dark and disturbed.

Keaton. For me, the very idea of a serious batman movie arrived with Keaton playing the lead role. Before that there were no batman movies. Well, there were kiddified movies based on the tv series I think, but come on.

How do you vote if the Batman you consider to be the real Batman (Thread Title) is not your favorite Batman (Poll Title)???

I consider Adam West to be the 'real' Batman since he was first person I remember in Batman costume, so anyone after that isn't original...

However, Adam West is not my favorite Batman actor...

I was pretty young when the older Batman movies came out. For me, Batman is probably the animated series, or Christian Bale..

The REAL batman is the Dark Knight comic book. Since the Dark Knight movie follows it the closest, I pick that.

Batman is a very dark, disturbed individual. And thats how he should be portrayed. Tim Burton almost had it, but he wasnt quite there.

Yea but when the actor playing it over acts while doing it, it makes him less of the real Batman.

Its a fantasy comic book character. The actor playing him really cant OVER act. He may act poorly, but its not really possible to overdo it.
In fact I think Clooney underdid it. And Batman is not a character you perform weakly.

Have to go with Keaton. Just the fact that I was a kid when those movies came out and the whole hype has that nostolgia going for it. Plus I think he does play one of the best Bruce Wayne's.

Anyone but Christian Bale. I hate that voice.

I have to admit that although the movies were good and very...um...stylistic with the darker less "cartoonish" theme...Bales voice did get on my nerves...just seems like he was trying way too hard, and on a bad voice on top of that!
