Philips 1200 series burner or a HP 9500 series? The Philips is new and the HP is a little used. I burn all different types of things. But out of these 2 which is more reliable?
 
I dont see a reliability problem with either. Assuming both have the same reliability history then it is just luck.

Edit: I would go with the.... *Tough choice* - HP.
