Which Direct X with Win2k?

I'm currently using DX8a, and it gave me a significant increase in FPS in UT. I'm working with stability problems with it right now, so I'm not sure if it's best to use DX7 or DX8????

 
I'm using Dx7 on my 2k system now and it works great. No problems. I was thinking of upgrading to 8 but I've heard it has had some problems with 2k, is this true?
 
I'm having problems, but I can't nail it down to anything in particular yet... So don't go by my experiences with DX8a... Do install it though, I saw a nice increase in frame rates using DX8a. at least under UT/3DMark2000... Now this is on a KT133a system/1.2G Tbird system, I didn't see much change on my P3-800/BX system.
 
DX8a is working fine on my Win 2000 system, I had some major problms with DX8, (my DVD software stopped working) but DX8a fixed that and now everything is working perfectly. DX8a even fixed some problems I had been having with a certain game under DX7. As for which is best, I'd sa it is whichever one works best on your particular machine.
