Which DIMM slots to use?

The manual for my Biostar TForce 6100 says that when using 2 DIMMs, place them in adjacent slots (ie, one in a green slot and one in an orange slot - DIMMA 1 and 2). I remember reading that this is wrong and I should put them in matching slots (DIMMA 1 and DIMMB 1).

Which is correct?
