Which Digicam do you recommend? (miniDV)

I want to buy a camcorder for the usual family events/holidays stuff.
I figure miniDV format is still where the best price/feature set is at [can't justify the cost for a HD camcorder - yet!].

I was looking at the Panasonic NV-GS320 which is about £360 here in the UK, with its 3CCD.

Is there anything as good/better than this that costs less [or the same. not more]?
