Which detonator is fastest for Visiontek GF3?

I've heard that certain drivers work better with certain boards or series of boards and that the latest and greatest driver isn't necessarily the fastest. Which version has proven to be a faster driver for the old GF3 cards?

I always thought 20series for gf2's 30 series for gf3's and 40 series for gf4's

i think the 41.22 worked best.. but i'm not sure if thats an actual one.

I just use the latest...it seems to work for me.

Same here,btw the current latest Nvidia 44.03 drivers have very good image quality,stability is excellent as usual.

It depends on the games and DirectX. If you play nothing but older games (more than 9 months), then the 30.82s should be fine, but newer games will need newer drivers. There are a lot of game-specific fixes (not just "optimizations" for benchmarks 😉) in the drivers. The newest dets also include DX9 support, and though no game currently uses DX9's advanced features (unless you consider 3DMark03 a "game"), the game may still require DX9 to be installed.

So, use what works best for the games you play, and when you have a problem with a game, try newer drivers. I personally use the latest detonators, updating quarterly at least.
