which DELL LCD should i buy...

i currently have a 1901FP (19" 1280x1024) LCD screen.

i would like to buy another monitor to run a dual monitor setup.

which should i get? money really isnt an object between the three since they are all relatively cheap, especially when the hot deals are going on.

the 1905 has replaced the 1901, i am unsure of the difference between the two, but they look identical.

the 2001FP gives me 1600x1200 which might be better for playing games, but how would that be with the 1901 by its side?

and also the new 2005FPW - widescreen would be really nice, i do watch a lot of WS DVD movies. i can also imagine its productivity increase in applications such as photoshop etc.

what do you think?

I would get the 1905 to match the 1901. If you are going to run dual displays then it will force the resolution on the bigger monitor to 1024 vertical. The next best thing would be the 2005 since it has 1050 vertical I think? Personally I can't stand dual displays of different sizes. It drives me nuts adjusting from one screen to the next. I have the 1905 and it is a great monitor, but I am getting rid of it to buy two 2001's to run as a dual setup.

wanna sell me your 1905?

im really considering the WS though...

also do you know the difference between the 1901 and 5?

I do not know the difference between the two. I think they just about the same though. I just got the 1905 as part of a dimension deal. It is really bright and sharp. I wanted the 2001 but got this practically free as part of the deal.

The only problem I can see with running the 2005 with it is that the 1905 is going to be taller. There is still going to be some adjustment to be made between the two. Also it depends on which resolution you like. If you can live with the smaller resolution then a single 2005 may be all you want to run. 1 2005 =1680X1050 of desktop space. 2 1905's =2560x1024 of desktop space.

I was thinking of selling it but I may give it to my parents. PM me if you really want it. It is brand new. Been out of the box for 2 weeks. No dead pixels.

no clue about productivity, but my bro has a 2005FPW, and it is a superb monitor. I'de reccomend it over the 2001 any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

WS, besides for movie watching which belongs on a big screen TV instead of a monitor anyway, is really a lot less useful if you have dual monitors. I got a WS Dell recently for my setup (3 monitors ^^) and immediately had to order an arm with a pivot to use it vertically, it was that useless. If you're dealing with multiple documents or need room for controls putting them on the other monitor just works better than crowding them on your main one, WS or not.
