I am pulling down the "vanilla" boot image now. Linuxiso.org lists 7 ISOs for x86. Do I need #'s 6 & 7?

Thanks!

You only need the generic boot disk. You might want to grab the bf2.4 while you're at it, so you can use the kernel-image-2.4 package...

You may just want to get the net install disc and install via ftp/http over the Internet.

Hey Nothinman -

I'll go that route if you give me your phone number to walk me through it:)

I got the "vanilla". I will take "the plunge" sometime later this week. I have to build a 98 box for my wife and kids so I can convert this baby to full on Linux. I am going to do it right this time and not have a Windows partition to fall back on. I'll either figure out how run a Linux workstation, ir not get the stuff done that I need to do from home.

Thanks!

Depends on how much you're willing to pay for tech support =)

The install is the same whether it's from CD or ftp, as long as your NIC works in Linux, the only real difference is the ISO download size because doing and FTP install downloads just the packages you pick to install.
