Which days of the week are best for air travel?

Last year when I flew to Europe my planes were packed going each way. Are there any days of the week that considered "light" for air travel, international in particular.

I have to take the same road that leads to the air port in Ft. Lauderdale, FL every day home, its only backed up on Friday. I'd assume any other day than Friday would be fine, unless its a holiday or a day before a holiday.

tuesday, wednesday, and saturday

Saturday? I've would have never guessed that, it would seem that people would try to get to/from home on Saturdays.

This man knows what he's talking about. I think b/c business men travel more on mon & thurs and weekend trippers travel on fri & sun. That's just my theory but tues, wed, and sat are in fact cheaper usually.

Most of the airlines put out weekly "e-savers," which typically require departure travel on saturday and return travel on sunday, monday, or tuesday, from select cities.
