check out the poll! 111 votes!

old result after 91 votes: 38% buying E6300/6400 this holiday!! Roughly 66% going with Intel dual and 26% AMD.

new result 111 votes: E6300/6400 lead drop to 37%. AMD dual cores gained 4% to near 30%! Looks like dual core AMD is still pretty hot.

Denends, I have some systems that are 939 and have 2gb of mem, they will get X2's or Opterons. Rather than ditch a good CPU, MB and Mem

Any completely new builds get E6600

I guess all single cores go under "other?" :(

Actually, where's the "I'm not gonna buy anything" option? I'm waiting for the E4300 come end of January. ;)

I'm getting an Opteron 180 Dual Core to replace my Socket 939 Athlon 64 3500+(stock speed).

Conroe E6300. The extra 2MB L2 on E6600+ would make a negligible difference and I want 4 GB of DDR2 this time around (I run virtual machines), so I'm going to have to save every penny I can.

Core Duo 2 E6300 I mean, or Allendale E6300.

I'll probably buy a 65nm X2 just for the fun of it. :) Don't really have any need for it, but it's still going to be a step up from my 3500+.

They're arriving in December. There have been rumors about a release on the 5th, so they might not be far off.

one more bump for people who hasn't voted yet!

check out the poll! 79 votes so far!

E6300/6400s top this list! I also noticed people are smart enough to avoid X6800, with QX6700 there's no point paying so much to get X6800.

Vote for none.
FX55 does the job for me.

Looking to buy again on the K8L release.
No preference between Intel or AMD, will buy the best bang for buck.

Will probably go QuadCore, I'm looking to spend $1,000 on my next CPU.
So whatever that gets me.

Crusader, since you waiting til K8L release, I'd either get K8L or the 45nm Intel native Quad. I think both coming out around same time. 1k will definitely get ya the top of the line then!
