Which CPU will give me the fastest OC ?

Which CPU under $500 will give me the fastest OC, at least on air?

Which motherboard to go with that CPU ?

Grab an opteron 939 148,150 or 152 from somewhere that is still shipping CABNE's from the first batch. They hit 3ghz on air pretty consistantly.

DFI Lanparty Ultra-D or SLI.

Dude, an x2 at 2.75 is faster than 99% of X86 proc's out there. Anyways, in just about anything intense you're going to be GPU limited with that POS x600 anyways.

as much as i hate to say this... i agree with Leper...

you're better off getting a better video card like the x1800xt or 7800gtx

i'd get a better video card...

but if you want a better cpu for under 500

then like people said the opteron 144/146/148/150 is the way to go.... as long as u can get a cABNE stepping...
