I'm building a computer for my little boy and have these two laying around. It will be going into a BH6 with 128Meg of PC100. From what I've seen there is very little performance difference and the Celeron does 450 at 1.9v using a little single fan HS and can run Q3 for days without locking up so I'm not worried about it's stability.

Just want to make sure I'm not overlooking a factor that would swing the decision one way or another.

p2-400 should do 440 easily default voltage, and spank the hell out of the celeron @ 450

however you could prolly sell the p2-400 on fleabay and then get a celeron 633, run it at 950 and be ought maybe $20-30 pocket expensive and have 2X (yes 2x) the speed of the celeron 450

that would be my choice. then sell the celeron, and you'll have no out of pocket expenses.

Actually, a P2-400 @ 448 (4 x 112) would be about the same speed as the Celeron 300A @ 450....

Although I agree that probably the best solution would be to sell the P2-400 and buy a new Celeron II at around 600MHz and overclock that. The new Celeron II would far outperform both the old Celeron and the Pentium II.

Just remember the on-die full speed 2nd level cache of the good old celly...
Should be faster than good old PII-400 ;)

Anyway, the sell and buy new Celly option sounds nice to me, too.
