Which will give better performance? Im running my amd 64 3000 venice at 2.6 Ghz. I can set it at 2 settings. 289x9 or 325x8. My question is will the extra high FSB help give me more performance then the 289x9?
NO! Higher FSB will require a lower memory divider which will lower system performance. You can confirm this with SuperPi. Stick with the 9x multiplier.
bencmarks rarely translate into any real world percentage advantage, as seen in Zebos memory matrix. you want to use whatever easier fits ur divider to attain the memory speed you want. find your max memory clock then figure out if 289 at 1:1 gets you closer to your max as opposed to 325 at some divider.
