Which cpu/mb/ram "system" to choose ?

Will be mainly used for photo managing/editing , gaming & internet .
For the price range , these are the two systems I have to choose from . Going with MSI & Mushkin because I've used them in the past & have been 100% reliable.

AMD 2600 2.08ghz 333fsb - $290.
MSI K7N2-L N-Force2 - $102.
Mushkin 512mb HP pc2700 - $199.
($591.)

Intel 2.53ghz 533fsb - $233.
MSI 850e MAX -$137.
Mushkin 256x2 pc800 - $222.
($592.)

Got the prices from NewEgg a few days ago so thier close enough 🙂
Also , I'm not going to be overclocking this system .

Little revised list for your AMD system:

Athlon XP 2600+ Retail from Mwave.com
Price: $262.97 shipped

Asus A7N8X Deluxe
6x USB 2.0
Dual Ethernet
Serial ATA
2 Firewire Ports
And some other pretty good features
Price: $148 from Newegg.com

or

Abit NF7-S
4x USB 2.0
Ethernet
Serial ATA
2 Firewire Ports
Parallel -> SATA adapter
Price: $126 from Newegg.com

2 x 512mb PC2700 Crucial Ram from Crucial.com
Price: $197.59 including 5% off coupon and shipping

Comes to:
$586.55 for the NF7-S Combo
$608.55 for the A7N8X Deluxe Combo

Either way, I think an extra 512mb of RAM doesn't hurt 😉 and that those motherboards are a little bit better choice (more tweakability without overclocking)

My question was which of the two systems that I listed is the better of the two . I don't buy from Mwave , have had too many hassles . I've placed over 22 orders with NewEgg & not one has been a bad experience . Also , ordering all components from NewEgg which in turn lowers overall shipping costs .
I'm going with the brands I've used in my systems that have been very reliable in the past .

Thanks for your input but need to focus on my "main" question 🙂

you dont want to overclock at all?

if you do, id rather go with 2100+...or even 2400+

(it doesnt look like you want to, since you may be buying retail amd since you dont have a heatsink+fan choiec...?)
